Q. Why do I need purification?
Purification, also known as detoxification, can help you remove natural toxins from your body and help maintain a healthy weight. We are exposed to external toxins everyday, including pollutants, pesticides, and chemicals. Internally our bodies produce waste byproducts as a result of normal metabolic function. Although your body is designed to rid itself of these toxins naturally, it can become overburdened. Purification offers your body additional support to expel natural toxins and minimise your weight, which is important to maintaining your health and vitality.

Q. How do I determine my toxic load?
Your toxic load is the amount of toxins that your body needs to process. By answering the following questions, you may gain some insight as to your current toxic load.

Yes No Do you or have you eaten processed foods?
Yes No Do you eat non-organic fruits and vegetables?
Yes No Do you eat meat and poultry that are not free range?
Yes No Do you consume genetically altered food?
Yes No Do you or have you ever used artificial sweeteners?
Yes No Do you drink soda?
Yes No Do the foods you eat have preservatives, additives, dyes, or sweeteners added?
Yes No Do you eat fast foods and/or eat out regularly?
Yes No Do you charbroil or grill foods?
Yes No Do you drink coffee regularly?
Yes No Do you drink alcohol?
Yes No Do you drink tap water?

If the majority of your answers are "yes", then it is likely that your diet contributes significantly to your toxic load. Beyond diet, many external toxins, such as perfumes, cleaners, and pollution, add to your load. Your health care professional can help you assess your toxic load.

Q. What are the benefits of purification?
A purification program can have a significant, positive effect on the biochemistry of the body while allowing natural toxins
and byproducts of daily metabolism to be eliminated. By participating in a purification program, you may notice the following:
Improved weight management results
Increased energy/vitality
Better digestion
Less bloating
Clearer skin
Shinier hair
Better sleep
Clearer thinking
Disappearance or lessening of past symptoms

Q. What is the difference between purification and dieting?
The ADIO 21 Day Purification Program is not a diet. It is a program that helps you live a healthier life by purifying, nourishing, and maintaining a healthy body. At the same time it recalibrate the body, the liver in particular, for healthy sustainable weight loss.

Our purification program emphasizes supplements and whole foods, particularly fruits and vegetables, while limiting high-calorie, refined foods and animal products. Nourishing yourself with nutrient-rich foods will provide the complex combination of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that are needed to protect the body and promote optimal health.

Q. Don’t I need protein and fat?
You will get the protein you need from the SP Complete shakes. There are 10 grams of protein and you will have 2-3 shakes per day, adding in a tablespoon of ground flaxseed per shake for the necessary fats and fatty acids. The shakes contain high-quality protein that is very easy to assimilate so it will not tax the liver and glands.

Q. Does it need to be flaxseed?
A. Flaxseed is the best choice for adding Omega-3 fatty acids to your shakes. An alternate choice is hemp seed or high-quality fish oil, such as SP Tuna Omega- 3.

Q. Are the shakes a meal replacement?
A. The shakes are not designed as a meal replacement. Meals should be comprised of vegetables and fruits. However, some individuals feel full from the 2-3 shakes and are unable to eat much more than that.

Q. How do I make the shakes?
A. Use a cup of water, two rounded scoops of shake mix, a tablespoon of ground flaxseed, and 1/4 to 1/3 cup of fresh or frozen fruit or vegetables. We recommend stocking your freezer with frozen berries, cherries, and fruits; use organic if available.

Q. When do I take the supplements?
A. Refer to the supplementation schedule in your book or in the purification emails. Follow this schedule closely, as the recommended amounts on the bottles are not all accurate for this particular program. Take the supplements with your shakes or food to help your body digest and assimilate the nutrition.

Q. Which vegetables and fruits may I have?
A. Choose any vegetables or fruits on the list you've been given. You may eat unlimited vegetables and fruits, but it is important to eat twice as many vegetables as fruit.

Q. How should I cook my vegetables?
A. Vegetables should be raw or lightly steamed. Aim for half raw and half steamed; if digestion is poor, increase the amount of steamed vegetables. You may also use any of the recipes under the “Purification Recipes” tab on our website.

Q. May I drink juice?
A. You need to eat whole, fresh vegetables and fruits to get all the necessary nutrients. Juice has been separated from the fiber and other nutrients of the fruit and a glass of juice may contain all the fruit sugars of 6 or more pieces of fruit. This much sugar entering your system without the fiber to slow it down will tax your glands.

Q. May I drink tea, coffee, soda, etc.?
A. Please limit your beverages to spring or filtered water, sparkling mineral water, and herbal teas (without sugar). You may squeeze lemon or lime in for flavor. It is important to consume primarily plain water (at least 8 glasses), with sparkling water and/or herbal tea as a secondary choice. If you feel you are addicted to caffeine and typically consume several caffeinated beverages a day, you may wean yourself by eliminating your caffeine over the first few days. This is a great time to quit caffeine, because your glands will be resting and getting all the nutrition they need to recover.

Q. May I have salt, black pepper, garlic, or other seasonings?
A. We want you to use the Celtic Salt to replace vital minerals (speak to an ADIO team member. You may also use small amounts of pepper and individual dried seasonings (not blends). Try adding lemon juice, garlic, or minced fresh herbs for flavor. Also try greens that have great flavors of their own such as spinach, mustard greens, or arugula.

Q. What about exercise?
A. The recommended exercise during Pre-Purification and Purification is walking for 30-45 minutes at least four times per week. This is important to keep your lymphatic system moving. Your lymphatic system is a vital part of your immune system and it is the main route for the elimination of toxins, bacteria, wastes, and excess fluids from your body. The lymph system is composed of a network of vessels that collect fluids from every part of our body. It also contains groups of lymph nodes that house white blood cells and act as filters for foreign particles. Unlike the cardiovascular system, the lymphatic system has no pump outside the contractions of muscles to move lymph fluids from one part of the network to the next. So keep moving!

Q. What will I eat next?
A. After you have completed the Purification you will be ready to add in some additional foods that are beneficial for you. Keep in mind: we do like dairy, meat, eggs, nuts, etc., but are giving our liver a three-week vacation from them to rest and rejuvenate!

Q. How should I feel while doing purification?
What we experience on purification can vary dramatically from individual to individual. Nine out of ten individuals
feel great throughout the purification experience. The rule of thumb, the more toxic/sicker we are, the more
symptoms we are likely to experience while these poisons leave our bodies. These symptoms can include:

flu like symptoms

tingling and/or painful legs

low energy

poor sleep

light headed/dizziness

pimples and/or cold sores

It is hardly ever the foods one eats or the supplements one takes during purification that makes one feel “bad”. It
is almost always due to what one is not eating: fast food, sugar, wheat, caffeine, dairy, hormone and chemical
laced animal products, additives and dyes. The body misses these chemicals, like an addict misses drugs. To
feel better we have three options: start consuming toxic food once again, hang in there for a few hours to a few
days, or make some minor alterations to one’s eating plan. If the third option is more appealing to you as it would
obviously improve the longer term outcome, please let us know and we will assist you with these changes.
